Introduction

Max Kuhnes
Canine Instructor
My name is Max, I am 31 years old and I live with my fiancee Demy and our dog Nala in the Willemskwartier in Nijmegen.
I have loved dogs since i was a little boy, thats why a few years ago, I started taking care of and walking the dogs of friends and family. As a result, my interest and love for dogs has grown increasingly stronger.
To substantiate this passion of mine with knowledge, I started following an education to become a 'Canine Instructor' at the Martin Gaus Academy.
After completing my education, my next step was clear: I wanted to make my dream come true: setting up my own dog business!
And here I am - working (almost) daily with different types of dogs (and owners!).
Whether it's daycare, my walking service or private lessons - the great variability, walking in the fresh air and regular contact with dogs makes this job a perfect fit for me!
I would love to hear how I can be of service to you and your dog(s).
I'm already looking forward to it!

My working method
Understanding each other - that's the most important thing.
That means we must explain to our dogs how our world works and what is expected of them.
This way we can ultimately guide them into making the right decisions.
Also I think it is very important that we owners fully understand our role - in addition to being a loving leader, we also want to be their 'employer'.
The 'working' part has disappeared from most dogs' lives and it is up to the owner to fill this gap.
Whether it is obedience exercises, dog sports such as Agility or Flyball, or regular and extensive contact with other dogs, a fulfilled life requires more than just sitting on the couch
(for dogs and humans).

Will my dog fit in?
"It should be fun for everyone" - that's my mantra when it comes to my work with dogs. But unfortunately that also means that not every dog is suited for my services.
This is not dependant on the race of the dog, but more his/her energy, age and character..
Here are a few criteria so that you can check in advance, if your dog fits into my services.
1. Your dog must be at least 10 months or older.
- the walks of my walking service are at least 50 minutes. Since a puppy can walk approximately 5 minutes per month of age, a minimum age of 10 months old is required.
2. Your dog must be social and active
- The heart of my work is the mutual contact between the dogs that I walk and those that stay in my daycare.
This includes walking, running and playing together, or just cuddling on the couch.
3. Your dog must master basic commands
- think of 'sit', 'down', 'wait' and especially 'walking on a loose leash' (if there are still problems with this, please request a private consultation first)
4. Your dog must not be in heat
- because I receive both males and females, it is unfortunately not possible for me to accommodate a female dog in heat.
During the introductory walk, we will get to know eachother, but I will also examine the criteria above.
Only then will be decided if working together makes sense.

Reviews

Michiel with Senna
We are happy to bring Senna to Max with great confidence, for a day of playing or an overnight stay. There is a lot of personal attention, which really appeals to us. Recommended!

Yeliz with Keycha and Mira
We have been using Max's services for over 2 years now. It is an incredibly nice feeling to know that your dogs are in good hands while you are at work. Max is especially reliable, flexible and passionate about walking and looking after our 2 dogs (shepherd and a mix breed from Mexico)

Erin with Ceca
Max is cheerful and adequate. I leave our Ceca, 6 months old, with him with peace of mind.

Chris and Ank with Chase
Chase has now been to Max twice to get used to his sleepover holiday at the end of April. Max is very pleasant in his communication, both face to face and via the app. Responds quickly and completely, sends photos and videos and has a positive approach. He is also friendly, knowledgeable and Chase is clearly enjoying himself. Max handles everything very thoroughly. A guest week means first an afternoon of getting used to things, then an overnight stay, so that Max and his guest can get to know each other and see if they click. I can recommend Max to everyone and already know that Chase, just like us, will have a wonderful holiday.

Amy with Jack
We always bring our dog to Max with confidence. Our dog Jack loves Max and we know he gets the right attention and care. And we also get good tips if we have questions!

Nikita with Loki
Max has been looking after our dog Loki for a while now. He is very flexible and super sweet with our dog.
Max takes long walks and ensures that Loki also comes into contact with other dogs. Besides the fact that Max is reliable and keeps agreements, he is also a great animal friend and that is very nice to see!

Yab with Boris
Maximilian has been coming to walk our dog Boris for a few years now. Always proven to be reliable and has good knowledge of dogs. Are very satisfied with it.

Jana with Guus
We have been bringing Guus to Max in their home-based shelter for a while now. This way we know that Guus is in good hands and we have a carefree holiday, but so does Guus!

Elea and Jackie
Very nice man who knows what he is doing! Our Jacky enjoys going there and comes home completely happy!

Joao Paulo with Sagu
I felt completely safe leaving Sagu with Maximilian for the day, he sent pictures and videos and I could see how happy sagu was. In the future I will reach out for him again.

Lesley-Ann with Kay
Max has been regularly walking my dog Kay (2 year old American Bully) for more than half a year now. Kay and I are very happy with Max! He always gives Kay a lot of attention and takes the time to walk with Kay. Max is reliable, friendly and always tries to find time to walk with Kay. Max gives me the feeling that he really enjoys working with dogs!

Marlous with Flo
We are very happy with Max as a sitter for our dog. On the one hand he is very professional and, for example, he looks closely at the behavior of all dogs, on the other hand it feels like we are leaving our dog with good friends. We leave our dog behind with peace of mind. The dog is also always thrilled when she can visit Max again.

Robbie with Pablo
My dog always looks forward to it! Recommended!

Tom with Thibeau
Max is a super nice dog sitter! Because he is a dog trainer himself, he knows well what works and what doesn't. In the past month and a half we have taken our puppy to him a number of times, including overnight stays, and it's going great! Nala (Max's own dog) is also a sweetheart and very social and calm with our dog. We recommend Max to everyone!

Roosmarein and Bucky
Max kept us well informed during our dog's stay. He has a lot of knowledge of the breed, which also made things go well. his own dog. Our dog had a great time and is now sleeping knocked out from a nice weekend.
